Cummins announces senior leadership appointments across operations, engine business and distribution

Cummins has announced leadership appointments, effective from January 1, 2024. Following this, Srikanth Padmanabhan will assume the role of EVP and President for Operations, Brett Merritt will become the Vice President and President of Engine Business, and Bonnie Fetch will serve as the Vice President and President of the Distribution Segment.

Srikanth, who joined Cummins 30 years ago, has played a pivotal role in guiding Cummins toward a net-zero future through customer-focused innovation. With a passion for market-product intersections, innovation, quality, diversity, and community engagement, he has held key leadership positions in various Cummins divisions across India, the US, Mexico, and the UK. In his new role, he will oversee critical projects that redefine the company's global operations during the energy transition and take responsibility for vital aspects of business operations and regions.

Brett will succeed Srikanth as Vice President and President of the Engine Business. He is currently serving as the VP of On-Highway Engine Business and Strategic Customer Relations. He has been with the company since 2009 and has led the expansion of the On-Highway business to 1.2 million engines over the past 11 years.

Bonnie, currently VP of Global Supply Chain, will assume the role of VP and President of the Distribution Business, succeeding Tony Satterthwaite. She joined Cummins in 2018 and has consistently taken on additional responsibilities across the Supply Chain. Before joining Cummins, Bonnie served in leadership roles in general management, supply chain, and human resources at Caterpillar for over 20 years.

Additionally, the company has named Amy Davis as Vice President and President of Accelera and Components, following Mahesh Narang's departure on October 27, 2023. He served the company for over 20 years, and will now explore external career opportunities.

Jennifer Rumsey, Chair and CEO of Cummins, announced these leadership changes and emphasized the company's commitment to the "Destination Zero" strategy, which focuses on the decarbonization of products and growth opportunities. She expressed confidence in the capable leaders driving Cummins' future success.

In an official statement, Rumsey said, "Srikanth’s extensive business and operations leadership experience, paired with this results-oriented and employee engagement mindset, make him the perfect choice to help lead this important work for the next phase of Cummins.

Brett is an experienced business leader and trusted advisor and partner to many of our key customers, which is why I asked him to take on an expanded role earlier this year overseeing strategic customer relations across the company. I am excited for Brett to assume leadership of this segment.

Bonnie's more than 30 years of supply chain, business and HR leadership make her uniquely qualified for this role, and I’m thrilled for her to leverage her existing DBU and aftermarket expertise to run this segment.

I am thrilled to have Amy lead both the Components and Accelera business segments. She has the skills and experience to continue the momentum and growth of both businesses, and I am confident in the future of both under her leadership."

Rumsey also expressed gratitude for Mahesh's contributions, describing his lasting impact on Cummins, his commitment to excellence, strong customer partnerships, and his dedication to developing and coaching his teams.

She stated, "Mahesh’s impact on Cummins and our people is lasting. He has capably led with a focus on excellence and building strong customer partnerships, and he has consistently demonstrated his ability to improve performance, enhance our technology and product offerings, and deliver outstanding results. I have admired his unwavering commitment to his people and enjoyed watching him lead with fairness, coaching and developing those who work with and for him. He will be missed."
