Ericsson appoints Charlotte Levert as chief people officer amid strategic evolution
Mobile tech company Ericsson has appointed Charlotte Levert as its new Chief People Officer, Senior Vice President, and Head of Group Function People, effective 10 February.
Levert, currently Vice President and Head of People Business Area Cloud and Software Services, will step into the role as MajBritt Arfert prepares to pass the baton after nearly four decades with the company.
Levert, a seasoned HR leader, has played a pivotal role in shaping Ericsson’s people strategy, previously serving as Head of People Business Area Managed Services. Her career spans multiple leadership positions, including Head of HR Sweden & Global HR Business Partner at Tieto.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management & Human Resources, she brings both depth and dexterity to Ericsson’s evolving workforce agenda.
Börje Ekholm, President and CEO of Ericsson, underscored Levert’s leadership and strategic foresight, stating: “Charlotte will be an integral part as we are entering the next chapter of Ericsson’s strategy and in the continued evolution of the People agenda. She brings a strong track record from different organisations including different parts of Ericsson and I’m very much looking forward to having Charlotte join the Executive Team.”
Taking the helm of Ericsson’s people function at a pivotal time, Levert acknowledged the weight of the role and the opportunity ahead: “I am truly honoured to take on this role and grateful for the trust. Working at Ericsson means we all get the chance to be part of shaping the future. I am looking forward to co-creating a future-proof organisation and where Ericsson remains a great place to work.”
Her appointment comes as Ericsson recalibrates its people strategy, ensuring that its workforce remains the backbone of its innovation engine.
As the company navigates industry headwinds and technological shifts, Levert will be instrumental in fostering a culture that balances agility with stability, innovation with tradition.
MajBritt Arfert, who has been a steady hand guiding Ericsson’s people function for 38 years, will remain available during a transition period until May.
With Levert now in the driver’s seat, Ericsson’s HR function is poised to steer workforce transformation with purpose and precision, ensuring that people remain at the heart of the company’s next chapter.
