J.P. Morgan appoints Kam Shing Kwang as new Hong Kong CEO

P. Morgan has announced the appointment of Kam Shing Kwang as the new Chief Executive Officer for Hong Kong, effective October 1.

Kwang will succeed Harshika Patel, who is stepping down as Hong Kong CEO after completing her term, according to a report by Reuters. Kwang, who joined the bank in 1998, will now oversee local governance, coordination, and controls. She will report to JPMorgan’s Asia Chief Executive, Sjoerd Leenart.

Patel, who strengthened the bank's internal culture and solidified its presence during her tenure, will continue in her role as Chief Executive of Asia Private Bank, a position she assumed from Kwang last year.

Kwang’s new role builds on Patel's leadership, as Patel transitions to focus on her expanded role as chair for North Asia.
