Singapore Airlines (SIA) announces the promotion of Leslie Thng to Executive Vice President
Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group has promoted Leslie Thng to Executive Vice President, effective 1 July 2024. Thng, 50, will continue as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Scoot, SIA's low-cost carrier subsidiary. He will report to SIA CEO Goh Choon Phong and the Board of Budget Aviation Holdings.
SIA CEO Goh Choon Phong said, "Leslie brings a wealth of experience from key positions within the SIA Group and other important markets. His promotion strengthens our senior management team and allows him to contribute more to the SIA Group's future success."
Thng joined Singapore Airlines in 1999 and has held several senior positions, including CEO of Vistara and Chief Executive of SilkAir. Under his leadership, Scoot has seen significant growth, with capacity, passenger traffic, and load factors exceeding pre-pandemic levels in 2024. Scoot has been recognized as Value Airline of the Year and the World’s Best Long Haul Low-Cost Airline. At Vistara, he launched international flights and integrated the Boeing 787-9 into its fleet, establishing it as India’s preferred full-service carrier.
