Employee Engagement

What is your Mental Health Pledge for 2020?

The public eye continues to look at ‘mental health’ as something that needs to be spoken about behind locked doors, and something that incapacitates humans, not realizing the grave need to destigmatize it and the possible far-reaching impact of actually addressing it as a basic concern and actively seeking to improve it.

Given the magnitude of the potential threat of a global psychological pandemic, it is imperative now, more than ever, to translate all the ongoing conversations on focusing on mental health into actionable steps, through acceptance, compassion, and an intent to build a global community that does not discriminate and shuns, but rather addresses mental health and those that suffer with the same concern and care that is offered to anyone suffering from a physical ailment.

It is critical to recognize mental health care as a basic provision and not a generous offering. Employee mental well-being is more than just a "nice to have" — it is a must for employers that need to remain competitive in today's hot market for talent. The bottom line will take care of itself when the employees are well & happy. This in essence, is what corporate wellness is about.

In this direction, People Matters brings to you Pledge for Mental Health”, a movement that will bring together industry leaders to advocate on the importance of mental well-being for employees and businesses and the value these programs will add to the business bottom line.

We spoke to many CEOs, HR Leaders, and CHROs about what are the measures they have taken to improve the mental well being of their employees.

Here’s what they said:
