Salesforce ties up with Nokentech to train 100,000 students with digital skills in Indonesia

To democratise digital skills access to students across rural and urban areas in Indonesia, Salesforce has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Nokentech.

Over the next three years, Salesforce and Nokentech will work together to equip up to 100,000 students in Indonesia with customer relationship management (CRM) skills to participate in the country’s burgeoning digital economy. The partnership supports equitable access to digital skills with women and girls to make up 50 per cent of students trained.

The training programme is available to students between the age of 18 and 26 years old in Indonesia and will be conducted on Trailhead, Salesforce’s free online learning platform. Salesforce will conduct Train-The-Trainer sessions with Nokentech to equip their trainers with expertise in emerging CRM trends, and familiarity with Salesforce curricula.

The first training session for over 100 students was held on March 23. Subsequent training sessions will be held across multiple locations in Indonesia.

Salesforce and Nokentech will partner to open pathways to jobs for participants within the Salesforce ecosystem of customers and partners in Indonesia. Select participants are able to undergo further training to obtain their Salesforce Administrator and Salesforce Developer certifications in order to pursue roles such as Salesforce administrators and developers.

“Providing youths with inclusive access to education and employment opportunities will be critical to unlock the full potential of Indonesia’s digital economy to drive innovation and growth,” said Sujith Abraham, Senior Vice President and General Manager, ASEAN, Salesforce.

“Building digital talent requires breaking down barriers and creating opportunities with programmes and tools for students across Indonesia to access. This makes Salesforce one of the best platforms to train our students with. With Nokentech as the Salesforce training partner in this government programme, we look forward to achieve our goal of Indonesian Digital Talent,” said Audy Nelwan, Chief Executive Officer, Nokentech.
