Wipro promotes 73 employees to senior VP and VP

To reinforce its leadership and retain talent IT, consulting and business process provider Wipro has promoted a record number of employees to senior positions.

According to reports, a total of 73 senior executives and executives have been promoted by the company. Out of the total promotions, 12 senior executives and 61 executives have been promoted to senior vice president and vice president roles, respectively.

These promotions have been announced after the IT firm decided to offer quarterly promotions and hikes to its employees in July last year. More than 10,000 employees were promoted and got salary hikes across bands.

Last year Wipro hit the headlines after Wipro's chairman Rishad Premji fired one of its top 20 leaders ten minutes after he was found to have committed a huge integrity violation. Wipro terminated 300 employees for moonlighting.

According to Premji moonlighting is a “complete violation of integrity in its deepest form.”
