Collibra appoints Madalina Tanasie as Chief Technology Officer
Leading Data Intelligence Company, Collibra has appointed Madalina Tanasie as Chief Technology Officer of the company. In the new position, Tanasie will be responsible for leading the engineering, architecture, security, production engineering, excellence enablement, and quality assurance divisions of the company. Tanasie also served as an interim CTO from March 2021, streamlining engagement between product management, architecture, and engineering.
Felix Van de Maele, founder and CEO of Collibra said that Madalina Tanasie has shown exceptional leadership skills in her time at the company. She is after all the first internal promotion to an executive-level position. Van de Maele hopes that they can build on her experience and vision to further solidify Collibra’s impact for customers.
Prior to this, she has also held the role of Vice President of Operations and Excellence at Collibra, working for organizational transformation regarding product operations and engineering. Her work has always been focused on improving engineering practices, and achieving scale, and operational excellence.
Madalina Tanasie has an illustrious career with over 15 years of leadership experience in software engineering, cloud-native distributed systems, and process management. She was also the Vice President of Engineering at Medidata Solutions, a SaaS provider for clinical research in life sciences. There she was building engineering teams, and infrastructure, microservices that supported the company’s platform for clinical development. Her software engineering skills were honed at NYC Department of Education and Total Soft where she was a Senior Software engineer. Tanasie has earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science from Politehnica University of Bucharest.
