Mercedes-Benz Middle East appoints Martin Schulz as new President and CEO
Martin Schulz has been appointed as the president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East, effective February 1, 2021. Schulz replaces Thomas Klein who held that position since July 2019 and led Mercedes-Benz across 13 markets within the Middle East and Levant region.
Prior to joining Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East, Schulz was CEO of Mercedes-Benz Romania, where he headed Market Operations MBC Eastern and Central Europe (MBCEE) since 2019.
One of Schulz’s key accomplishments in his previous role was the amalgamation of the Hungary, Slovakia and Romania markets into one regional organisation and the establishment of a Centre of Competence in Romania.
This isn’t the first time that he will be working in the region. In 1999, he worked as assistant sales manager at Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East’s Regional Centre in Dubai.
“The region is an important market that presents many opportunities through customer-centric business models and the introduction of Mercedes-Benz’s exciting new models, including the Mercedes-EQ electric range. The region is set to be a major area of success and growth in the years ahead,” said Schulz upon his appointment.
In January, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an e-commerce platform of its passenger cars for customers in the UAE. Gargash Enterprises, the authorised dealer of Mercedes-Benz in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, has said that it’s the luxury auto manufacturer’s first ever passenger car e-commerce platform in the Middle East.
