Finland’s PM proposes 4-day work week, 6-hour days

Sanna Marin, the Prime Minister of Finland, believes that a four-day work week with six-hour work days would enable workers to spend more time with their families. Marin became the Prime Minister in December 2019 and is a leader of the centre-left coalition that contains five other parties that are all led by women leaders.

Back in 2018, Perpetual Guardian, a New Zealand-based legal company, was heralded in the news for introducing a four-day work week. Its founder, Andrew Barnes observed that the results at Perpetual Guardian were “remarkable.”

Key takeaway:

As the policy of shorter work-weeks and six-hour work days spreads across various companies in the world, Sanna Marin is one of the pioneering leaders who is planning to implement such work policies on a country-wide level.
