A global player in alternative investments AXA IM Alts has appointed Lu Gao as head of client group alts Asia. In his new role, Gao will be working closely with all AXA IM Alts business lines to raise new capital in Asia and expand its third-party client base. He will also be tasked with maintaining relationships with existing clients.

Gao will be based in Singapore and he will report to Florence Dard, the global head of the client group.

Gao comes with 15 years of experience in investor relations and institutional sales. In his recent role at Farallon Capital Management, Gao worked as its head of Asia investor relations. Previously, he also worked at Goldman Sachs, Amundi Asset Management and Sculptor Capital at senior positions.

In another development, AXA IM Alts closed a €330 million European collateralised loan obligation (CLO), known as Adagio X EUR CLO (‘Adagio X’).
