Blockchain payment startup Terra hires ex-Uber exec in SG

A blockchain payment startup Terra, has set up its Southeast Asia hub in Singapore. In an effort to expand its operations in the region, the South Korea-headquartered company has also hired Uber’s former APAC Head of Strategy as the Head of International Business and Strategy. 

Rahul Abrol will be based out of Singapore and will lead the regional team and expansion efforts for the blockchain payment startup. In his previous role at Uber, Abrol also managed operations for the ride-hailing app’s operations in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. 

Before working with Uber, Abrol was working with UBS Investment Bank where he covered mergers and acquisitions and fund raising activities. 

A mobile payment app called CHAI was launched in South Korea this June, by this particular growing startup in the region.
