Former Uber head Jonathan Wong to lead Hmlet renamed as Habyt in Asia Pacific
After rebranding itself to Habyt following its merger with the German company of the same name in April 2022, Singapore-based Hmlet has announced the appointment of a new CEO for the Asia-Pacific.
The new CEO Jonathan Wong has succeeded Giselle Makarachvili who announced her departure earlier this month to focus on family. Wong will be responsible for spearheading Habyt’s presence across Asia.
Jonathan Wong is a seasoned leader, venture builder, and operator with an extensive track record of launching and scaling profitable start-ups and building high-performing teams across APAC as co-founder & COO, regional head of strategy and expansion / GM at CloudKitchens and Uber.
Besides, he will also focus on deepening the company’s footprint in its current locations, enhancing customer experience, and delivering commercial success for the firm’s real estate partners.
Habyt’s merger with Hmlet was aimed to cater to the fast-growing flexible living sector. Habyt is the biggest European co-living company, while Hmlet is based in Asia Pacific.
