APAC employees most likely to work on holidays

Millennials are more likely to work during their holidays as compared to their counterparts in the Baby Boomers generation, according to a global survey.

About 37 percent of employees in the APAC region said they work during holidays, according to a survey by Snow Software. As compared to their western counterparts, the workers in the APAC area find it difficult to detach themselves from their work devices. 

While 60 percent of Hong Kong employees saying that they continued to work even during their vacation time, about 62 percent of employees surveyed in India said they also continue to do so. 

When it comes to the other countries in the APAC region, China is at 36 percent, while New Zealand and Japan are at 33 percent and 30 percent respectively. Only about 28 percent of Australian workers said they brought work devices with them on a holiday. 

On the other hand, a little more than one-third of American workers said they would carry their work devices with them on a vacation. While in Europe, only 29 percent said they would bring work with them on their break. 

Millennials are more likely to work during holidays (37 percent) as compared to Baby Boomers (24 percent). The Baby Boomers’ generation is able to disconnect from their devices in a better way as compared to the millennials.
