UK based global software firm Ideagen has opened its new Technology Centre of Excellence site in Malaysia. The software firm will be hiring around 80 people in its first phase of recruitment, with roles ranging from software development, test and cybersecurity.

The new Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Subang Jaya, Selangor, has a capacity for 200 software developers and other skilled technology professionals.

Ideagen has clients such as Air Asia, LionAir, Haeco, Hong Kong Red Cross and the Malaysian Resourced Corporation in the APAC region. It has its CoE at locations including its headquarters in Nottingham, UK, a facility near Glasgow, also in the UK, and a US site in Raleigh, North Carolina. 

The Group provides software and services to organizations operating within highly regulated industries such as aviation, banking and finance, life science, healthcare and manufacturing with its main operational premises spread throughout the UK, EU, US, Middle East and SE Asia. Currently, more than 5,000 organizations use Ideagen’s products including global brands such as British Airways, Aggreko, BAE, Ryanair, US Navy, KLM, BBVA, Bank of New York, Commerzbank, Meggitt, Heineken, Johnson Matthey, Haeco Group and European Central Bank are some of the customers of Ideagen.

The investment in Malaysia comes as Ideagen looks to strengthen its position in the multi-billion dollar governance, risk and compliance (GRC) software market. The Malaysian CoE will effectively become the company’s operational hub in the region, as it grows its business in Malaysia and the wider Asia-Pacific. The expansion in Malaysia is part of the company’s global ‘Centre of Excellence’ project which has created new dedicated business functions and almost 150 jobs worldwide. In just seven years, the company has expanded its staff numbers from 30 to more than 530 globally.
