Apple Inc joins row to mandate vaccination proof
Tech giant Apple Inc will now require all its retail and corporate employees to produce proof of their COVID-19 booster shot. According to reports, the notice is supposed to take effect from January 24 onwards.
According to a report by The Verge, those, who fail to prove their vaccination against the virus will need to provide a negative report of the COVID-19 test in order to enter the workplaces globally.
Initially, the company had asked the employees to return to the office floors by February 1, 2022. However, citing the mounting Omicron cases and the variant’s speed of infecting people rapidly, the company announced in December that it will postpone the reopening of its offices beyond the mentioned date.
In the US, Facebook parent Meta Platforms also mandated vaccination proof for the employees as the company plans to delay its plans to open the US offices till the end of March.
