interviewIA raises US$2m in seed round
Interview workflow management startup interviewIA has raised US$2 million in a seed round led by the Colorado Impact Fund, with participation from FirstMile Ventures, Rockies Venture Club, Outbound Capital, Dasein Capital, Stout Street Capital, and Service Provider Capital. The funding will go towards strategic hires, product development, and growth initiatives.
interviewIA was founded in 2020 by a team of eight including CEO Joe Thurman, COO Carolyn Lyons, and CRO Jacob Mueller, with a stated objective of helping organisations to be “objective and inclusive in hiring to create thriving, diverse, engaged cultures of high-performing employees”.
The platform has been under development since 2018 and integrates interviewer support, HR transformation, structure, and data-driven interview outcomes. It aims to reduce bias in the hiring process and thereby make hiring more equitable and assist employers in assembling a more diverse workforce.
Ryan Kirkpatrick, Co-Managing Partner of the Colorado Impact Fund, said that hiring has been affected by the pandemic, systemic inequalities, and economic uncertainty, hence the need for a fresh approach: “As hiring accelerates through the recovery from the pandemic and considering the call to action on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion after the social movements this past summer, we believe a solution to make the interview process more efficient, structured, and unbiased is important and timely.”
