Zoom Video Communications has announced the appointment of Cindy Hoots, Chief Digital Officer and Chief Information Officer at AstraZeneca, as an independent director on its Board of Directors, effective immediately. 

Hoots brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as Chief Digital Officer and Chief Information Officer at AstraZeneca since January 2020, and previously holding leadership positions at Unilever and British American Tobacco, as well as 16 years with Mars, Incorporated.

In a statement, Eric S. Yuan, Founder and CEO of Zoom, highlighted the value that Hoots's expertise in leading large, complex organisations in regulated industries will bring to the company as it continues to grow and innovate within the healthcare sector.
