Alvarez & Marsal Tax has announced the appointment of Shantini Ramachandra as the new Managing Director and Tax ASEAN Lead, with immediate effect.

Shatini, who joined the tax advisory firm in October last year, will be taking over the responsibilities based in Singapore. She brings in over 31 years of industry expertise encompassing international tax, M&A tax and private client services issues. Before her appointment, she worked with National Parks Singapore in the capacity of Board Member and Deloitte as a Partner. She also served PwC Singapore in the role of Director for over 18 years. 

In her new role, Shantini will be responsible for advising mergers and acquisitions, developing efficient vehicles for inbound and outbound investments, resolving complex tax issues, optimizing value chain operations, handling incentive planning and dispute resolution for clients and, consulting businesses and families on estate planning and wealth preservation, pre-IPO structuring, acquisitions and divestments and immigration planning, stated the company. 

On the academic front, Shantini holds an LLB from the National University of Singapore and an LLM from the University of London, King's College. She is an Accredited Tax Advisor (Income Tax) with the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals.
