Berger Paints India appoints Ranjan Banerjee as Group Head of Human Resource

Ranjan Banerjee would be replacing Samar Banerjee , who was appointed in the same position in May 2021.

Home decoration giant Berger Paints India has announced the appointment of Ranjan Banerjee as the new Group Head-HR of the company. In this new role, Banerjee will headline the people function for the Berger Group and kick-start transforming the HR processes to achieve the company’s business aims.

Banerjee will report directly to Abhijit Roy, MD & CEO, Berger Paints and has taken the role with immediate effect from 18 May, 2022. 

Carrying close to three decades worth of experience, Banerjee has worked for large Indian conglomerates and leading foreign multinationals across sectors such as FMCG, telecom, hospitality, power & infrastructure, media & entertainment, textiles & fashion fabrics and chemicals. 

Previously, Banerjee had served a short stint at Epsilon Carbon. He has also worked with ITC as HR Manager and music behemoth Saregama India as CHRO for close to two years, where he headed HR for the entertainment and media business. He also counts RPG Enterprises, Vodafone, India Power Corporation and Aditya Birla Group as his previous employers.

Banerjee studied his master’s degree in social work (specialisation in PM & IR) from Visva Bharati, Santiniketan and also completed an HR executive programme (HREP) at Ross Business School, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA.

Banerjee will be based out of the Berger Paints’ headquarters in Kolkata.
