Cameron Hick joins Willis Re as Director of Australia

Willis Re, the reinsurance business of leading global advisory, broking and solutions company, Willis Towers Watson announces the appointment of Cameron Hick as a Director in its Australian business.

In this role, Hick will focus on client advocacy, delivering strategic advice, structuring assistance and insights to Willis Re’s clients in relation to their reinsurance purchase. Hick will also strengthen its relationships with the global reinsurance community.

Commenting on the appointment, John Philipsz, CEO of Willis Re Australia said,  “Cameron’s deep reinsurance experience and knowledge of the global markets will add considerably to our core reinsurance structuring and placement capabilities.”

Hick brings with him more than 20 years of experience in reinsurance. Since 2017, he has been based in Zurich as a global accounts executive for Partner Re where he was responsible for developing frameworks to improve the firm’s client management approach, growing its portfolio and strengthening business relationships. Prior to that, Hick enjoyed a long and successful career with Munich Re, working in Melbourne, Sydney and Germany. During his time at Munich Re, he had a range of roles in both treaty and facultative reinsurance culminating in his position as Client Manager and Head of Business Planning, leading the non-life client management team.

Hick will relocate from Switzerland to Australia to take up this role in Sydney, commencing on 1 February 2021 and report to John Philipsz.
