CBRE appoints new head of sustainability & ESG consulting services

CBRE has appointed David Fogarty as Senior Executive Director, Head of Sustainability & ESG Consulting Services, Singapore and Southeast Asia, effective 4 May 2022.

As head of CBRE’s sustainability & ESG consulting business in the region, Fogarty will develop and implement business plans for the growth of sustainability services in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Moray Armstrong, Managing Director of Singapore Advisory Services at CBRE, says, “the pandemic has contributed to a greater focus on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), and we have noticed significant interest for ESG from investors and occupiers; hence, it is crucial for us to strengthen our team and be in this space to meet the growing demand.”

According to CBRE’s 2022 Asia Pacific Investor Intentions Survey, more large investors are integrating ESG criteria into their investment by prioritising the purchase of buildings with green certification and retrofitting existing properties to enhance energy efficiency, water usage and wellness.

Fogarty was most recently CBRE’s executive managing director, Property Management, United Kingdom, and has relocated back to Singapore. With a career in commercial real estate spanning 25 years based in the United Kingdom, Australia and Singapore, he doubled the size of the CBRE property management business in Southeast Asia, creating a Sustainability business line and introducing digitalisation to the portfolio.
