Data management and security company Cohesity has appointed Craig Martell as Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Martell will bring his deep industry expertise to shape the company's technical vision, incorporating current and evolving industry and customer trends to define and execute a strategic and impactful roadmap for the company’s future.

With extensive industry experience in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, Martell has joined Cohesity from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), where he worked as the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAO).

Before joining the DoD, Martell held several senior roles at some of the most recognisable technology companies. At Lyft and Dropbox he served as Head of Machine Learning. F 

Before then, he led several AI teams and market-moving initiatives at LinkedIn. Martell was also a tenured computer science professor at the Naval Postgraduate School specialising in natural language processing.
