Colgate-Palmolive India names HUL's Prabha Narasimhan as new CEO

After spending 15 years with Hindustan Unilever Limited, Narasimhan is moving on to a top leadership position with another household brand.
Colgate-Palmolive India names HUL's Prabha Narasimhan as new CEO

Colgate-Palmolive India has announced that Prabha Narasimhan will be appointed the new Managing Director and CEO from 1 September this year. She will take over from Ram Raghavan, who has been promoted to President of Enterprise Oral Care with the global parent company with effect 15 April.

Narasimhan will join Colgate-Palmolive from Hindustan Unilever Limited, where she is currently Executive Director of Home Care. HUL announced her pending departure and the appointment of her successor on 9 March, although without specifying the date of effect. Colgate-Palmolive subsequently announced her new appointment on 10 March in a statement by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the Board of Directors.

Narasimhan has over 23 years of experience in FMCG. She joined HUL in 2006 and has spent the last 15 years there, moving up from general management positions to heading specific business lines. The company accolades her on its website for achieving broad-based performance delivery across all brands of its skin care business while she managed it. She stepped into the home care role in 2020. Sanjiv Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director of HUL praised her in the 9 March announcement, saying she had contributed immensely to integrating sustainability into the business's product development strategy.
