Cover Genius appoints Arijit Chakraborty as MD for Southeast Asia & India

Cover Genius, the global insurtech company, has announced the appointment of Arijit Chakraborty as its Managing Director for Southeast Asia and India. This appointment comes as the company announces senior executive appointments in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India.

Chakraborty has had senior leadership roles at Manulife, Tokio Marine and Zurich and has been involved in the Southeast Asia start-up ecosystem, including insurtechs, over the last few years.

Chakraborty will be responsible for spearheading the insurtech’s insurance and commercial partnerships and leading the regional teams in Singapore, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Along with Chakraborty, Cover Genius has also appointed Saurabh Mehta as Partnerships Director, SEA, and India in Singapore, Amitansh Gupta as Director of Insurance in India and Vas Ramanujam as Director of Insurance in Malaysia. These appointments expand the Cover Genius team in Asia which already includes Partnerships and Customer Support teams in Thailand and Indonesia.

Saurabh Mehta brings to the company a wealth of strategic partnerships and growth experience from senior roles at AliPay and Microsoft, while Amitansh Gupta and Vas Ramanujam join Cover Genius from some of the region’s biggest insurers including Bharti AXA, Collinson, Prudential BSN Takaful and Ernst & Young.
