Edtech firm Emeritus has announced the appointment of Bhushan Heda as chief technology officer (CTO), reporting to Emeritus's co-founder and CEO, Ashwin Damera.

Heda will drive the technology strategy of Emeritus and its group companies and lead the global technology teams across five business functions: product management, product ops, engineering, data, and enterprise IT.

As CTO, he will be responsible for maintaining a world-class technology platform by collaborating with global and regional lines of business and operations, leveraging technology, and strategically embracing automation to drive over ten key business initiatives.

With a career spanning from start-ups to large companies, Heda comes to Emeritus from his most recent role at Intuit, where he led the Data Exchange team, as well as prior leadership positions at Google and eBay. He has experience leading critical acquisitions and integrations, as well as expanding tech product capabilities and boosting the return on investment for customers.

“Our team at Emeritus is united by the belief that education is transformative and will be increasingly essential in the new world of work. Bhushan will ensure that our overarching technology strategy aligns with our mission and business goals, and supports our company’s steady growth,” said Damera.

“It’s an honor to join a company that’s laser-focused on making sure that people and organisations around the world have access to education and skills development that will help them grow personally and, in their careers. Technology systems and strategies are constantly evolving, and I look forward to harnessing this continuous innovation at Emeritus,” said Heda.
