Gong Cha Indonesia names Yeolenda Pakel as Head of People

JAKARTA - Gong Cha, a leading beverage company, has appointed Yeolenda Pakel as the Head of People in Indonesia, effective October 2024.

Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Yeolenda shared, "I’m happy to announce that I’m starting a new position as Head of People at Gong Cha Indonesia!" She received warm congratulations from the community. Shortly after joining, she began hiring initiatives across various functions, including Marketing, to elevate the Taiwanese bubble tea company's market presence to the next level of growth.

In her new role, Yeolenda brings nearly a decade of experience in HR and legal domains. She most recently served as HR Manager at KAGI Hospitality. In her previous roles, she worked with PT. Ristorante Italia Cita Harapan, overseeing workforce planning, recruitment, budgeting, talent acquisition and retention, and aligning talent with business needs. Earlier in her career, she worked with Tomaple Gourmet Potato Donuts and Abraham Pakel & Associates Law Office.

On the academic front, Yeolenda holds an LLB degree from Parahyangan Catholic University and possesses strong expertise in HR management, training and development, labour laws, HR policies, HR consulting, employee development, and strategic HR—driving people initiatives and supporting HR functions toward sustainable success in Indonesia.

Last year, Gong Cha appointed Tamera Campbell as Chief People Officer to attract, retain, and develop top talent supporting the bubble tea chain’s growth plans. She is based in the United Kingdom, where the company plans to open over 500 new stores.
