Chinese multinational technology corporation Huawei Technologies has filled the vacant leadership position internally.  The company has appointed Li Peng as Chairman of Carrier Business Group (BG) after the death of Ding Yun due to illness. Earlier Li was the director of Huawei’s branches in Europe and Africa.

The Shenzhen headquartered company also appointed Wang Tao as Chairman of the Business Group (BG). The BG business works with enterprise customers, while the BG operator provides products and services to telecommunications operators, such as wireless networks.  The carrier and enterprise BGs are two of Huawei’s three main sources of revenue. 

The newly appointed chairman of the BG in his most recent role served the company as chairman of the ICT infrastructure board.

In another development, Xu Zhijun (Eric Xu) has assumed the position of Rotating and Acting Chairman of Huawei from October 1, 2022. He will continue to serve as rotating chairman till March 31, 2023. During his term, Xu will serve as the company's top leader, and head the Board of Directors and its Executive Committee.
