Maserati announces expansion plans, appoints Hamdy Elshantoury as MD for Overseas region
Maserati, a leading manufacturer of luxury vehicles, has announced the appointment of Hamdy Elshantoury as the head of the newly created organisation in the Overseas region, covering the US & Canada (North America), Europe, China, Japan and Korea.
In his role as Managing Director, Hamdy will lead Maserati’s business expansion in these five new regions, along with interim responsibilities in the Middle East and Africa. The company stated, “Alongside the new head of the Overseas Region, Hamdy Elshantoury – who also maintains ad interim responsibility for MEA – Wong Yi Mui Wallace has been appointed responsible for SEAP & India markets, and Marco Spadaro has taken responsibility for the East Europe and Latin American markets.”
With over 16 years of experience, Hamdy joined Maserati in 2021 as the General Manager for the MEA region, overseeing business operations, including P&L ownership, Sales, Marketing, and Aftersales operations. In previous roles, he worked with Nissan Motors as the Head of Strategy and Business Planning, INFINITI Motor as the Product Marketing Head of the EMEA region, and Toyota Motors as the Area Sales Manager in Egypt.
In his new role, Hamdy will be based in Italy, collaborating closely with the new Overseas Region leadership team for streamlined central management. This move aims to enhance support to markets and expedite decision-making. Meanwhile, the market management team will remain within the region, maintaining close ties with their respective countries.
