Michiel Boere joins Remote as Chief Financial Officer
Michiel Boere has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Remote, the company that specialises in building, managing, and supporting global distributed workforces.
Boere will be responsible for the global financial strategy and operations of the company as it enters its next phase of growth.
"Michiel is a great fit as Remote’s first CFO – he brings extensive experience in leading the financial operations of high-growth technology businesses as well as a personal commitment to Remote’s mission of enabling more people from anywhere to participate in the global economy,” said Job van der Voort, CEO and Co-Founder of Remote.
“His leadership will be invaluable in building Remote into a generational company.”
Boere joins Remote from Uber, where he held various roles and most recently was Global CFO for UberEats. He also serves on the supervisory board of the RAI Amsterdam and previously worked as CFO of Greetz, a Dutch ecommerce company.
Like all Remote employees, Boere will work from his chosen location in the world – Amsterdam. He reports directly to CEO Job van der Voort.
According to Boere, the future belongs to globally distributed businesses. He believes that Remote is empowering the next generation of companies to scale internationally in a way that wasn't possible just four years ago without a lot of upfront capital investment.
“I am excited to join Remote during this period of incredible growth to build a finance function that supports Remote’s work to help more companies realise the benefits of a globally distributed workforce,” he said.
As Boere joins Remote, former Senior Vice President of Finance Pedro Monteiro de Barros moves into the role of General Manager, Contractors.
