PropertyGuru elevates Human Resources Director as CHRO

PropertyGuru has appointed Genevieve Godwin as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Godwin had been leading the people agenda for the company as Human Resources Director for two years.

Godwin has played an influential role in improving the firm’s talent growth across Southeast Asia, which include Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam for over 1,200 employees. In her new position, now she will be responsible for talent management along with employee learning and development.

While announcing the appointment, Hari V. Krishnan, CEO and Managing Director of PropertyGuru Group said, “Her focus on learning and development will be increasingly invaluable as we continue to hire, engage, develop, and retain a diverse team as a Southeast Asian technology leader.”

“With her passion and determination to build an improved workplace, I look forward to working with her closely to strengthen our talent strategy and employer branding,” he added.

Godwin joined PropertyGuru in 2018. Prior to that, she has worked with companies like Telenor, J.Walter Thompson Worldwide, and Harris CapRock Communications Singapore. Now, as she takes on a new role, she shared her excitement to contribute and continue shape the unique culture at PropertyGuru.

The group has grown from strength to strength, backed by the most talented professionals in Asia,” she commented on her appointment.

“Our business is in the exclusive position where Gurus can create an impact in the technology industry, in a business homegrown in Southeast Asia. I look forward to supporting our Gurus development and experience, as we continue to drive excellence for PropertyGuru,” said Godwin.

PropertyGuru has been growing since its inception in 2007. It has been working towards revolutionising the Singapore property market by taking it online. Through digitization the company has made property search transparent for the property seeker.

In 2018, PropertyGuru received SG$ 200 Mn Series D funding from global investor KKR. In the same year, the Group commenced its second decade with a new phase in the company’s transformation to a high-growth technology company. It was the same year in which Godwin joined the company. Given that she has been with the company through its transformational phase, she is probably a good fit to lead the talent agenda of PropertyGuru in another new phase.

With talent development a key priority for PropertyGuru, let’s see how Godwin creates an innovative learning strategy that includes methods of blended learning such as online learning libraries and focused in-person development.
