Singapore Institute of Directors names Terence Quek new CEO

The Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) has announced the appointment of Terence Quek as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 9 May 2022. He will take the helm from Edwin Lee, the present Executive Director, who will stay on as Deputy CEO.

Quek joins SID from organisational development firm Emergenetics International, where he was APAC Regional CEO. Prior to that, he co-founded communications consultancy Caelan & Sage in 2007 and headed the firm until its  merger with Emergenetics in 2012. He has significant public service experience, holding a number of grassroots leadership positions including District Councillor of both the South-East and South-West Community Development Councils. In addition, he has held a wide range of board directorships at community development and educational institutions.

Wong Su-Yen, Chair of the SID Governing Council, said of Quek's appointment: “Boards have the power and responsibility to positively influence the course of their organisations. In an increasingly complex and volatile corporate landscape, Terence’s skillsets and experiences will enable the Singapore Institute of Directors to build on previous efforts and amplify its impact. I look forward to working with him to enhance our offerings and increase value to our members, partners and the greater community to develop stronger, future-ready boards and organisations."
