Siti Fadilah takes the helm as CEO of Islamic Relief Malaysia

The humanitarian agency is confident that Siti Fadilah's expertise will drive greater impact in sustainable aid efforts worldwide.

Beyond local efforts, Siti Fadilah has also represented the organisation in global humanitarian missions.

 

Islamic Relief Malaysia has appointed Siti Fadilah Mohd Hood as CEO, effective 1 February. She succeeds Mohd Shukor Tahir, whose tenure concluded on 31 January.

Datuk Seri Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rahman, chairman of the Board of Trustees, said Siti Fadilah’s elevation to the top role follows an 18-year tenure with the organisation, during which she served as Deputy CEO.

Her leadership in fundraising, marketing, communications, and programme development has been instrumental in driving the organisation’s humanitarian agenda.

“With extensive experience in the humanitarian and welfare sector for 18 years with Islamic Relief Malaysia, Siti Fadilah has demonstrated leadership in fundraising, marketing, communications, and programme development,” Syed Saleh said.

Armed with a degree in Biochemical Engineering-Biotechnology from the International Islamic University Malaysia, she has successfully steered projects that have made tangible differences in communities worldwide.

Championing humanitarian values

Under her stewardship, Islamic Relief Malaysia has championed numerous key initiatives, spanning seasonal programmes, emergency relief efforts, and sustainable development projects.

These include flagship campaigns such as Rezeki Ramadan, Palestine Appeal, Save Syria, MyYateem, Water System Waqf Fund, Local Emergency, and MySedekah.

Beyond local efforts, Siti Fadilah has also represented the organisation in global humanitarian missions and working groups across Somalia, Malawi, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosova, Turkiye, Jordan, and Bangladesh.

Recognising her dedication, Syed Saleh expressed confidence in her ability to steer the organisation towards greater impact.

“We trust that her expertise and commitment to the mission of Islamic Relief will drive the organisation's efforts in providing high-quality and sustainable humanitarian aid,” Syed Saleh said.

The Board of Trustees, senior management, and staff have extended their warmest congratulations to Siti Fadilah, affirming their support as she takes the helm.

The agency said that, with her proven track record and deep-rooted passion for humanitarian work, she is well-positioned to further the organisation’s mission of alleviating suffering and fostering resilience in communities worldwide.
