StanChart appoints Rukshila Seneviratne as Head of Human Resources in Sri Lanka

Standard Chartered, a global consumer and corporate bank, has announced the appointment of Rukshila Seneviratne as the Head of Human Resources for Sri Lanka, with immediate effect.

In her elevated role at the bank, Rukshila will be responsible for bolstering the people strategy and HR operations in the region. She will be a part of the senior management team along with CEO and Country Head Bingumal Thewarathanthri. 

Rukshila joined the bank in 2008 as an Officer in Consumer Banking Mortgage Operations based in Dubai, UAE, and transitioned to several leadership roles in Sri Lanka over the last 15 years. She most recently held the position of Senior HR Business Partner for over five years in the region. Her core competencies include strategic HR, talent acquisition, retail banking, risk management, rewards, recognition, compensation, and performance management.

In addition to her tenure at StanChart, Rukshila brings six years of experience from working with the National Development Bank and The Finance Company in Sri Lanka. On the academic front, she holds an MBA degree from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and an Advanced Diploma in Psychology from the Scottish Qualification Authority. Additionally, she is certified as a Mental Health First Aider (MHFA, England).

Announcing her new role on LinkedIn, Rukshila posted, 'I’m happy to share that I have embarked on an exciting new chapter in my career as Head of Human Resources, Sri Lanka at Standard Chartered!'"
