Thailand-based LINE company internally appoints new leadership team

With a focus on boosting growth and organization capabilities, Thailand-based company LINE appoints new senior leadership team with Dr. Phichet Rerkpreecha as Chief Executive Officer among other appointments including a new Chief Commercial Officer CCO, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Content Business Officer.

Thailand-based LINE Company appointed Dr. Phichet Rerkpreecha as their new Chief Executive Officer. Among other leadership appointments are Norasit Sitivechvichit as Chief Commercial Officer, Chanwoot Luechaisit as Chief Marketing Officer and Kanop Supamanop as Chief Content Business Officer. 

The above appointments will be effective July 15th, 2019 and will be based in Bangkok. The new appointments come as a result of internal shuffling with all of them having been with LINE Thailand for the last two or three years in different capacities.

Speaking of the new leadership team for LINE, Eunjung Lee, Senior Vice President of Global Business Development at LINE Plus Corporation said, “During our search for a new leadership team, we realized that we already had a strong and experienced lineup of leaders ideally situated to take LINE Thailand to the next level.” He further added that he is confident the new members have tremendous potential to accelerate company growth and will make take LINE to the next level by making it the number one digital platform.

Dr. Phichet Rerkpreecha joined LINE in 2016 as Director of Government Affairs. In his new role as CEO of LINE, Rerkpreecha will be leading strategy and planning, and will align businesses within LINE creating scope for growth in the future. He will also be responsible for building on business partnerships and government alliances, continuing as lead of Government Affairs.

Prior to LINE, Rerkpreecha was Google’s Head of Public Policy and Government Affairs  at Thailand. Growth policies of emerging economies gain enough attention from him, adding to his knowledge his commitment to see Thailand grow as a strong global business centre.

Norasit Sitivechvichit  will be moving from the role of LINE’S Director of Commerce to the new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). He will be responsible for commercial strategy and operations for both Line Biz-solutions  (B2B services) and LINE Stickers and for creating new business services. Prior to joining LINE in 2017, Sitivechvichit was working with Dentsu Media (Thailand) Ltd. 

Kanop Supamanop, will be making the shift from his present role as Director of LINE Stickers to the new Chief Content Business Officer. In his new role Supamanop will lead content development at LINE TV and LINE Today and will also be responsible for building partnerships with both domestic and global content producers. Before joining LINE Thailand as Head of B2C and LINE Stickers in 2017, Supamanop worked at DTAC as AVP - Postpaid and VAS Proposition.

Present Director of Marketing Communications, Chanwoot Luechaisit, will be taking over as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). He will lead marketing communications and corporate communications for all services and platforms of LINE Thailand. Former Managing Director of Ogilvy PR, Luechaisit possesses strong expertise in brand and marketing communications.

With LINE’s vision to become the numero uno for everything digital in Thailand, the new leadership’s existing association with the organization gives them enough to start with. Insights on current plans, what’s working/not working and what changes are needed to become a market leader gives the new leads a jumpstart. Internal restructuring when you strive to become a market leader appears to be a wise strategy to pull through.
