Vipin Chandran to lead SAP Malaysia as Managing Director, eyes accelerated growth in AI
SAP, the software company, has named Vipin Chandran as the new managing director of SAP Malaysia. With more than 25 years of experience, Vipin brings a wealth of expertise in business leadership, team development, and cloud transformations to his latest position.
As the managing director, Vipin will lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the digital transformation capabilities of businesses across Malaysia. His primary goal is to expedite growth in the expanding AI economy while emphasising the establishment of robust and flexible supply chains for companies.
Additionally, he intends to play a role in advancing sustainability efforts through strategic initiatives. Vipin enthusiastically embraced his new role, citing Malaysia's thriving digital economy, which contributed significantly to over 23 per cent of the nation's GDP in the previous year.
He emphasised the government's dedication to nurturing this sector, as evidenced by recent budget allocations. He eagerly anticipates collaborating closely with both public and private sector entities to navigate Malaysia's dynamic digital transformation landscape.
With a tenure at SAP dating back to 2008, Vipin Chandran previously held the position of Chief Partner Officer for SAP Southeast Asia. In this role, he was instrumental in facilitating the success of over 500 partner organisations.
His extensive experience encompasses leadership roles in sales, services, and partner management across diverse regions, providing him with a nuanced understanding of SAP's ecosystem and customer requirements.
