Volkswagen has named Saad Chehab as the new Chief Marketing Officer in the US. Chehab has previously worked with FCA and Kia will take charge from 19th August 2019. He will report to Volkswagen of America CEO Scott Keogh.

In a statement, CEO Scott Keogh said, "Chehab is an accomplished, creative, thoughtful and passionate person, and the work, from Chrysler to Maserati to Kia, reflects it. We've built a powerful brand platform at VW, and I'm looking forward to seeing how Saad can take full advantage of it."

Chehab, who has previously worked with Ford as well, will be responsible for repositioning the German brand away from its diesel emission scandal and toward a future product line that includes at least four battery-electric vehicles in the US, starting next year.

Previously, Chehab also headed the Chrysler brand in the US and elevated the Maserati in the country. He was also the Vice President of marketing communications for Kia Motors America from April 2017 until June 26, 2019.
