CFA Institute appoints new regional MD for marketing and societies
CFA Institute has announced the appointment of Paul Moody as Managing Director, Regions, Marketing, and Societies, effective 21 February. The position is a newly created role, responsible for overseeing the professional investment management body's regional staff, society relations’ teams, and marketing and customer experience group.
Moody joins CFA Institute from Aviva Investors, where he spent over 20 years and most recently held the position of Client Solutions Director. Before that, he also took on a series of other leadership roles managing global teams. Prior to Aviva, he worked with several other investment firms. One of his areas of expertise is ESG investing, including the transition to investing in funds that are climate-friendly and/or follow other sustainability considerations. He is based in London.
Moody's appointment comes at a time when global regulatory policy is increasingly influencing the investment management industry's approach to the ESG aspect of investing, and international bodies including the International Organisation of Securities Commissions have been taking a strong stance on the role of sustainable practices in investing.
“Paul’s deep experience demonstrates that he’s distinctively suited for this position. He will draw on his 30-year career in asset management as both a global product director and client solutions director for the benefit of CFA Institute and our many stakeholders,” said Margaret Franklin, CFA, President and CEO of CFA Institute. “Paul understands how to shape products that meet client needs and bring them to market. He’s adept at working across organizations and with many stakeholders to deliver results, which will serve him well in this role.”
