DB Schenker names Katharina Rath new global CHRO

DB Schenker announced last week that its global supervisory board has appointed Katharina Rath the new global head of human resources, effective December 1. Her full title will be Member of the Board of Management for Human Resources.

Calling her an internationally experienced expert in various fields of HR, Dr. Levin Holle, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Schenker AG, said: "The Supervisory Board and I are very pleased to have gained her talent, knowledge and leadership skills for the DB Schenker Board of Management."

Jochen Thewes, CEO of DB Schenker, said: “I am very much looking forward to working with Katharina Rath. With her expertise and network, she will further drive our global transformation process and will enhance DB Schenker’s position as an employer of choice in the digital age.”

Rath will join DB Schenker from Continental Automotive Technologies, where she currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Human Relations, Automotive. She was also previously Head of Talent Management and Organizational Development for Continental. Prior to that, she had also been with Siemens in its Asia Pacific business.

She will take over from Thomas Schulz, the current CHRO, who leaves on October 31 after eight years in the role. However, DB Schenker has not specified whether it has any arrangements made for the interim month between Schulz's departure and Rath's entry.
