DHL appoints new Head of Innovation Center
DHL has appointed Justin Baird to head its Asia Pacific Innovation Center. The center, located in Singapore, is the first dedicated facility for logistics innovations in the region, used both as a test bed and a showcase site for emerging logistics-related technologies. It is one of three such centers DHL has established around the world, the other two being located in Germany and the US.
As head of the center, Justin is expected to drive the development and deployment of logistics solutions. He takes over from previous head Pang Mei Yee, who has moved to the role of Head of DHL Consulting in Asia.
"Our innovation centers around the world aim to provide a platform to convert ideas into customer-centric solutions that can realize that potential. I am convinced that Justin's experience will be invaluable in fostering collaboration and innovation among our customers and partners in Asia," said Matthias Heutger, Global Head of Innovation and Commercial Development at DHL.
Justin has over two decades of experience in management and emerging technology. Prior to joining DHL, he was Head of Technology, Asia Pacific, for Imagination Australia. He has also been a managing partner at Mosaic and Managing Director of R&D, Technology, and Innovation at Accenture. He has been an innovationist at Google, and is a co-founder of the Global Orchestra Foundation.
"I am deeply passionate about forming a community of like-minded technologists in the sector and look forward to building upon APIC's capabilities to develop disruptive innovations that will shape the future of logistics," he said of his latest role.
