Social media company Twitter has announced the appointment of Rinki Sethi, ex-executive at IBM, as its new Chief Information Security Officer. 

Twitter’s Platform Lead, Nick Tornow shared this information via a tweet. He said, Today, I’m thrilled to welcome Rinki Sethi as the new CISO of Twitter. An inspiring and experienced leader, Rinki comes to us via Rubrik, IBM, and Palo Alto Networks. At Twitter, she will lead our growing InfoSec team, protecting our customers and our company to earn trust.

Sethi also tweeted about her new journey with the micro blogging site, she said, “So excited to be a part of the team at twitter and working alongside with Nick Tornow Michael Montano Paraga and more.”

Prior to this, she was working with Rubik as Chief Information Security Officer. She was responsible for Rubrik’s information and technology assets and advised the company’s continued product innovations in the security space. 

Sethi joined Rubrik from IBM where she served as Vice President, Information Security. Prior to IBM, she built and matured technical security teams at several Fortune 500 companies including Palo Alto Networks, Intuit, eBay, Walmart.com, and Pacific Gas & Electric.
