Hoffman Indonesia appoints new general manager
The Hoffman Agency earlier this week announced the appointment of Thomas Franky as the new general manager of its Indonesia operations. Franky was formerly the director of public relations for Vuclip Digital Indonesia, and before that the managing director and COO of Fortune Indonesia, where he spent a total of almost 14 years. In his new role, he will be in charge of growing the agency’s presence across the Indonesia market and coordinating with Hoffman’s other regional operations.
Caroline Hsu, Hoffman’s managing director for the overall Asia Pacific operations, said of the appointment: “We set out to find a senior pro with a deep understanding of traditional PR, digital and the Indonesian market. Mission accomplished.”
Franky’s portfolio leans heavily towards digital, which may fit well with predictions that Indonesia is likely to lead the growth of Southeast Asia’s digital economy in 2020. Social media penetration in the country was estimated to be approximately 59 percent in January with year-on-year growth of around eight percent expected, according to figures from DataReportal, and PubMatic forecasts expect it to be one of the fastest-growing markets for programmatic ad spend this year.
