Huttons appoints Mark Yip CEO

Real estate agency Huttons Group announced today that it has appointed Mark Yip its new CEO, effective November 1. He will take over from former CEO Goh Kee Nguan, who resigned on August 12 to pursue other business interests.

Yip was previously the Chief Revenue Officer of City Developments Limited and the CEO of the property developer's China operations. Prior to that he was Deputy Director of Sales and Operations at Far East Organization. He has also held senior positions at gear firms Royal Sporting House and PUMA, and logistics firms CircleFreight and Eagle Global Logistics Corporation.

His appointment coincides with Huttons Group's move to focus more strongly on digital transformation. The company had earlier this year released a range of new digital tools to bring more of its business online, as well as to boost the online learning and development capabilities of its workforce, and it has for several years set aside a portion of its annual revenue for digital transformation efforts.

Chris Marriott, Chief Executive Officer, Savills South East Asia and Huttons Director, said that Yip's appointment would help with the digital innovation strategy: “Mark brings about a wealth of experience from the developer’s perspective. His industry experience coupled with his past regional roles bodes well with the company’s vision to solidify our position in the local and regional market."

Yip will oversee a recently expanded business, as Huttons Group announced earlier in September that it is merging with Savills Residential. The deal will be completed this month and increase the company's workforce by almost 20 percent.
