Kenneth Chia to step down as Executive Director of SMF

The Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) announces that Kenneth Chia will be stepping down as Executive Director of SMF on 31 December 2020. Tan Beng Tee, currently Assistant Chief Executive (Development) of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, will assume the role from 1 January 2021.

Andreas Sohmen-Pao, Chairman of SMF, says: “Kenneth has expanded our broad range of activities in the areas of talent development and maritime community building. He has strengthened the work of the Maritime Singapore Connect Office, which connects job seekers with employers; he has helped in the rejuvenation of the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration, and he has overseen new initiatives like the Circle of HR Innovators while managing the challenges of Covid-19 this year.’’  

‘’We look forward to welcoming Beng Tee, who has been instrumental in shaping Maritime Singapore into what it is today and will now lead SMF in the next chapter including our work on maritime decarbonization,” Andreas added.

Established in 2004, the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) is a private-sector led organization that aims to develop and promote Singapore as an International Maritime Centre (IMC), forging partnerships with the public and private sectors.
