Mahindra Group appoints Gurpratap Boparai as CEO for European region

Mahindra Group has appointed former Skoda Auto Volkswagen India MD Gurpratap Boparai as the CEO of the European subsidiary. 

The announcement was made by Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director - Auto and Farm Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra, via a social media post. In the post, he wrote, “We are delighted to welcome Gurpratap Boparai to Mahindra - in a very exciting role." 

Gurpratap announced his resignation from Skoda  Auto Volkswagen India in December 2021. His association with Skoda lasted for about three years and during his tenure, he lead the India 2.0 strategy of the group. Under his leadership, both Volkswagen and Skoda India increased investment into the Indian market. 

Prior to Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Gurpratap was leading Fiat in the position of CEO for almost six years. Other than these automobile giants, he has also with companies such as TELCO (now Tata Motors), Ocap Chassis Parts, Iveco and Tata Cummins and has the experience that spans more than 25 years.
