McDonald's leverages existing senior leaders to lead internationally
Fast food giant McDonald's recently announced new promotions (akin to an executive shuffle) within the company, effective from November 1, 2021. The McD veterans along with a former Petco executive have been designated to the other chief international market positions of the fast food company. It is reported that McDonald's share value has amplified by 11% this year, bringing gross share market value at $184 billion.
The recent promotions are followed by the promotion of Senior Vice President for International Operated Markets, Manu Steijaert as Global Chief Customer Officer, McDonald's. Steijaert took over the newly created role in the month of July. The Global Chief Customer Officer role was created last month as part of a long term strategy to centralize the company’s marketing, data analytics and digital initiatives
Paul Pomroy, former Chief Executive Officer for the UK and Ireland McDonald's office will take over the position of Senior Vice President for International Operated Markets. The idea is to focus more on digital initiatives along with data analytics and marketing strategies. Filling Pomroy's designation, McDonald's has promoted Alistair Macrow, present Global Chief Marketing Officer as CEO for the UK and Ireland segment of the fast food chain. Macrow has been appointed to the said position catering to his formerly served role as CMO for the UK and Ireland.
Morgan Flatley, presiding Chief Marketing and Digital Experience Officer for the US, McDonald's will be taking over Macrow's former designation. Apart from the shuffling of roles within the fast food chain, former Petco CMO, Tariq Hassan has been appointed to fill Flatley's role. Hassan is hired as Chief Marketing and Digital Experience Officer for the US McDonald's, effective September 27, 2021.
McDonald's intra-organisation promotions will help ramp up its data analytics, marketing and digital strategies, as it plans on scaling business growth globally.
