Mondelez appoints Glenn Caton president for SEA

Global snack giant Mondelez International has appointed Glenn Caton as president of its Southeast Asia business unit, where he will lead a 6,000 strong team working on all the company’s SEA key markets including Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. He will assume the role on March 1, the company said in an announcement today.

Caton, who joined Mondelez in 2013, has held senior positions all around the world for the company, including president for Northern Europe in 2016 and senior vice president for AMEA (Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa) in 2018. He said of his latest appointment: “I am thrilled to be leading the Southeast Asia business for Mondelēz - it is such a large; young; growing and dynamic region of world. A region with a rich history and tremendous future potential; where a vibrant, diverse, food industry and snacking behaviours are growing strongly and are at the very heart of culture and tradition.”

The global snack foods market is valued at approximately US$1.2 trillion, with Asia and particularly China driving much of its growth due to the rising middle class. Mondelez has identified Southeast Asia as one of its major growth drivers, particularly for its chocolate business globally.
