NTT appoints Tania Balcombe as ANZ CEO
Telecommunications company NTT has appointed Tania Balcombe as its new CEO for Australia and New Zealand, with effect on October 1. This follows the May announcement that current Australia CEO Steve Nola will be retiring on September 30.
Balcombe has spent over 14 years with NTT Australia, most recently holding the positions of Chief Marketing Officer and senior vice president of the go-to-market function. According to the company, she is "well known and regarded by NTT’s clients across the region having supported them through many strategic projects as well as working closely with key partners to help grow respective businesses."
Her assumption of the role will coincide with NTT's consolidation of its Australia and New Zealand operations to create an "ANZ region", according to the company's announcement this week. Also effective October 1, the new region will operate together with the wider Asia Pacific region.
Jason Goodall, Global CEO of NTT, said: “As part of our ongoing focus to transform our business, we’ve been reviewing how we can be faster to market, better serve our clients, align to our industry priorities and increase career opportunities for our people. The changes we have decided to make position NTT as the strongest technology services company in Asia Pacific. I am also delighted to appoint Tania, who is a world-class leader and a great advocate for our clients, partners and people across ANZ.”
As ANZ CEO, Balcombe will be expected to oversee the consolidation of the ANZ operations and the planned link-up with the APAC region.
