SAS appoints Derek Seow head of ASEAN

He has considerable prior experience leading sales growth across the region, having worked for both Gartner and HP Software in that capacity.
SAS appoints Derek Seow head of ASEAN

Global analytics software firm SAS announced today that Derek Seow has been appointed Head of ASEAN region, a role responsible for overall sales and operations across ASEAN. According to the announcement, Seow's appointment is intended to help SAS ride on the wave of digital transformation that multiple sectors have been undergoing. He is expected to streamline SAS's operations by strengthening sub-regional cooperation, although the announcement does not go into further details of the ASEAN strategy going forward.

Prior to joining SAS, Seow spent almost 14 years at Gartner, holding a variety of sales and operations leadership positions including heading sales across Southeast Asia and operations across Asia. He also spent 16 years with HP Software. More recently, he held advisory positions with GLG and AlphaSights.

Seow is based in Singapore and will report to Amir Sohrabi, Regional Vice President based in Dubai. Sohrabi said of his appointment: "Derek possesses sound credentials as an inspirational business executive in the information services and software industries in Asia Pacific. He brings vast experience and a proven track record of driving growth through the development and implementation of dynamic business strategies."
