Enterprise Singapore has kickstarted the inaugural run of its Scale-up program to mould and grow 25 companies preparing them to become global powerhouses.

Announced in Singapore’s Budget 2019, Enterprise Singapore has launched a 2.5 year program called Scale-up SG that will facilitate scaling up and global expansion of 25 selected high-growth high-potential companies in Singapore.

Speaking of the program, Enterprise Singapore’s Chairman, Peter Ong said, “Scale-up SG is a specially-curated program which aims to groom our high-growth local enterprises into global champions. The diversity of the companies will enrich peer learning, spurring each of them towards even greater growth.” He further added that the purpose of this program is to build a community contributing to a stronger economy with everyone moving up the growth ladder together.

Representing multiple industries ranging consumer, trade, connectivity, lifestyle and more with varying revenue sizes, the selected companies showcased a strong ambition to succeed with conviction in their leadership and growth strategies. The list of selected companies includes Goldbell Corporation, Koufu, PBA Group and Jumbo Group among others.

The development plan for these companies range across multiple areas of expertise such as collaboration, peer learning, development of the leadership team, succession planning as well as building a platform connecting these companies with program partners and the network of Enterprise Singapore.

With PwC Singapore and McKinsey & Company as anchor partners for the inaugural launch, Enterprise Singapore will also be partnering with several representatives of both the private and public sectors.

Over and above the growth potential of these companies, having a global HQ in Singapore and the ability to offer economic benefits, for example, creating employment opportunities, constituted the eligibility criteria for companies to make it in the Scale-up SG program.

With the recent launch of Digital Industry Singapore and now Scale-up SG, the island city is leaving no stone unturned to soon become a global powerhouse of talent, technology, and disruption.
